John Placanica
Managing Director
John has over 45 years' practical and operational experience in the mining, minerals exploration, petroleum, power generation, transport, waste management and construction industries.
He was employed for approximately 15 years with BHP Billiton, and enjoyed an active career in both the HR and HSE disciplines working in a variety of locations both domestic and international. This included six years as head of HSE for the BHP Billiton Global Exploration & Business Development Group.
During his time with BHP Billiton, John was a member of the team that developed the ICAM methodology of serious incident investigation, as well as authoring a study into more than 100 mobile equipment related fatalities at Australian mine sites over a ten-year period.
